EATING AND DRINKING IN MARKET WEIGHTON

Market Weighton boasts a number of fine hostelries for those wishing to slake their thirst. Mostly found in the centre of the town these are in the main traditional market town pubs. Many of them offer home-cooked food at lunchtimes and evenings. A number have pool tables or other bar games, there are regular Quiz Nights and Live Entertainment in the evenings, especially at weekends.
There are more superb pubs in the surrounding villages, many of which offer food, entertainment and games.
More details of these can be found by following the links on the right hand menu, where there is also a special feature on our "Pub of the Month".

For those wishing to eat out there is the Award Winning Bengal Brasserie in the town centre. Further afield there is a Chinese restaurant at nearby Shiptonthorpe or the superb new dining room in The Star at Sancton.

For a quick snack or takeaway there are two excellent fish and chip shops, a Chinese takeaway, a pizza takeaway and daytime snacks and sandwiches at the Wicstun Tea Rooms. Bradley's Coffee Shop and Wine Bar/Bistro is a new addition to the town's facilities. Freshly made sandwiches are also available at lunchtimes from Leake's Delicatessen, Cooplands Bakery and the Hog Roast Sandwich Bar.
