Market Weighton Sports Centre is managed and run by the Market Weighton Sports Association and is a prime example of a successful joint venture between a voluntary organisation and a Local Authority.

Over the years the sports centre has provided a wide range of sporting and leisure activities and has played an integral part within the local community. Not only is the centre open daily to the community, but it is at present run in Partnership with the local secondary school, thus providing facilities for educational benefit as well.

The sports centre consists of an indoor area which is used for basketball, five-a-side football, or split into 3 separate courts for activities such as badminton or volleyball. There is an outdoor, flood lit, area for tennis or football and also two squash courts.

So whether its providing the venue for a charity fun run or weekly training for one of the local football teams, the sports centre remains a backbone and important resource to the local sporting community.
