Controversial plans to to convert part of the Londesborough Arms into flats have been rejected
Controversial plans to to convert part of the Londesborough Arms into flats have been rejected by the East Riding of Yorkshire council's planning committee. The plans, submitted by Bagdale Hall Hotels, involved reducing the size of the hotel down to 10 bedrooms, convert the remaining rooms into flats and also to build two cottages at the rear.
The refusal to allow planning permission for this grade II listed building has been a welcome decision for the residents of the town and local businesses. The size of our town and its location really do demand that we have a good quality hotel. Hopefully now the owners will make an effort to re-open the bedrooms, or failing that bring in someone who can.
