Not so much news, but some comments about the High Street
The building formerly housing Phoenix Video is undergoing a long awaited refurbishment after being empty for too long and looking very dilapidated. It is refreshing to see that the rotten bow windows are being replaced by new bow windows, thus keeping the tradition alive.
The former Booze Buster is still boarded up and is really an eyesore, surely someone can put this retail outlet to good use.
No one seems to want to buy/rent the Londesborough Arms Hotel. Market Weighton needs a good hotel and it is a shame to see this grade 2 listed building slowly but surely deteriorating.
It seems that Alpha Computers is relocating due to lack of support within the town. Is it too far from the town centre, too far away from the Tesco end of town. We really should support our local businesses.
Isn't it amazing that we can support nine hairdressers !

Whilst an increase in East Riding of Yorkshire Council Tax is expected, Market Weighton Council will not be asking local residents to pay more over and above that for 2008.
